Mood and Anxiety disorders triggered by prolonged exposure to daily life stress can make it very difficult for individuals to function normally, such conditions are known as Generalized Anxiety Disorder or GAD and it affects millions of Americans.

Cognitive behavioral therapy or CBT can help in resolving these disorders. Most of our patients feel better in three to four months.
Therapy, in conjuction with simple habit changes will speed the recovery. The use of certain medicines, caffeine, and drugs, might increase anxiety levels. Controlling their use and adopting healthy lifestyle changes, including excersise, natural foods and yoga can speed recovery.
A more extreme form of anxiety disorder is known as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in which people have unwanted and repeated thoughts, feelings, ideas, sensations (obsessions), or behaviors that make them feel driven to do something (compulsions). Often the person carries out these behaviors to get rid of the obsessive thoughts, but this only provides temporary relief. Not performing the obsessive rituals can cause great anxiety.
Obsessive-compulsive symptoms may sometimes involve a person’s religion, such as religious obsessions or cultural practices. When there is an overlap between religious or cultural practice and obsessive-compulsive symptoms the therapist, with the patient’s consent, may seek the advice and support of an appropriate religious or community leader for support.
